Mistress of Blood (Color design and backstory)

This illustration was made to develop the color palate for my Mistress. I went with a red heavy palate since she is the mistress of blood.

The mistress was a noblewoman while alive, but met with a terrible demise. She lived within the walls of Ventrelience, the great mansion that overlooked the now abandoned city of Umbrex which lies far from the city of Obsumbra. She never left her home and was abusive towards her servants for years. One night, a group of her servants bound her in her basement and tortured her. She died holding an insurmountable amount of anger, hate and pain which warped her spirit. From her mutilated corpse rose the Mistress of Blood, who exacted vengeance by personally executing everyone within the mansion, indifferent to whether they were part of the group which tortured her or not. Even with the executions completed, those strong feelings have not subsided. She still wanders the halls of Ventrelience seeking to satiate her warped desires. Those foolish enough to seek refuge within the mansion walls will soon find it to be their final resting place.

It's A Revolution I Suppose.

Just a quick illustration I made that was inspired by the song "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons. For those unfamiliar with the song, here it is:
More specifically, I was inspired by the lyrics "I raise my flags,/ I don my clothes,/ It's a revolution I suppose." For some reason, I imagine a child in a treehouse watching the end of the world when listening to this part.

It's been a long time... (polished and colored keys)

Just a small update today. For my lip sync project, I've gone and polished my rough keys and colored them for the update video. Presently, I am working on inbetweens before adding facial features.

It's been a long time... (Lip sync test and rough keys)

Part of my goals for the summer is to try and teach myself some new animation tricks in addition to brushing up my own skills. This project is about lip syncing, which I've never done before, and emotion. Here is my lip sync test for the animation:
The dialogue comes from Glados in Portal 2. I thought the dialogue fit my character Madison who is a ghost. With her in mind, I went to making keys for her movement. Here are my rough keys:
I'm hoping to finish this animation sometime soon. I will update the progress of this as updates are made.

I saw a cloud that looked cool, so I sketched the general shape and details and made it into this. I call it a "Starship" because of the large star at the front of it.

Happy 4th of July!

I know the 4th was yesterday and I watched some fireworks to celebrate. They inspired me to make a short animation to celebrate. I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday.
