ASC Smackdown Entries

The Animation Student Collective did something new this semester. They started the Smack Down contest in which we would have 2 weeks to create an animation with a specific theme. Here were my submissions for this program:

Round 1 theme: Super Smash Brothers

Round 2 theme: Cereal Mascots

Round 3 theme: Kaiju

Round 4 theme: Defeating finals
(This round was a live edition meaning we had to animate our entry during the final ASC meeting.)

"Out of the Box" Assignment

In my portfolio class, we had to do an "out of the box" assignment which we would use to do something or try something different than we would normally do. I tried to tell a different type of story in a way I haven't tried that much. Here's some of the work I did for this assignment:

"Missing Link" Project

In my portfolio class, I had to work on a 'Missing Link' project which was very open. I used it to create a sort of story pitch for a short I called 'Fenrir.' Here's some of the more finalized pieces from it including backgrounds and a test storyboard.

Early Gentlemander Sketches

Gentlemander was not an idea that came together overnight. I went through quite a few pages of my sketchbook coming up with the story even before I knew it was going to be my senior thesis. Here are a few of the that started the idea of Gentlemander:

I graduated! Plus Gentlemander update

On May 9th, 2015, I officially graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design! It's been a busy couple of semesters, and now that it's over I'll be posting stuff I've been working on. It also means that I'll be releasing my senior thesis to the public soon!

For this past 8 or so months, I have been working on my senior thesis: an animated film I call "Gentlemander." Since its finish, I've been working on submitting it to festivals to get it out there as well as preparing for an online release! So be on the lookout for it on May 25th!

Toy Drawing

For a homework assignment in Character Design, we had to choose a toy and draw it in various angles and perspectives with construction and clean-up lines. I chose an Oshawott Pokemon happy meal toy. Here are the drawings:

Hero, Comic, Villain assignment.

For this Character Design assignment, we had to create an original hero, comic and villain character that fit in the same story. I chose to make a medieval-age inspired story. Here are the characters I made:
